With a total current capacity of 332,000 tonnes of primary aluminium produced per annum, ALVANCE owns and operates Europe’s largest aluminium smelter situated in Dunkerque, France, as well as the only smelter in the United Kingdom – ALVANCE British Aluminium. Powered entirely by sustainable hydro energy, ALVANCE British Aluminium is also one of the worlds greenest sites for primary production. ALVANCE’s downstream portfolio includes Aluminium Duffel, Europe’s pioneer in Automotive Body Sheet (ABS) manufacturer. Plans are also well advanced to add value to the primary metal from Lochaber Smelter and to add significant quantities of high quality recycled aluminium to build a 100,00 TPS extrusion billet plant.

Taking advantage of the exponential growth in the use of aluminium in a host of consumer goods and industries – from packaging to vehicles and transportation and other engineered products – the Alliance is seeking to further integrate its operations through the supply chain in the next few years to drive synergies and profitability.

As one of the most recyclable metals in use today, aluminium is increasingly being produced through the use of renewable energy and the introduction of new technologies and recycling methods. It was therefore a natural step for GFG Alliance’s Chairman Sanjeev Gupta to extend GFG’s CN30 initiative to the ALVANCE brand and aluminium production. 2020 - Installation of the four-stand tandem hot finishing mill, the most contemporary hot rolling mill in the world. Hot rolling capacity elevated over 800 kTns and final product capacity over 360 kTns. The mill enhances energy efficiency, reduces energy consumption and carbon footprint, contributes to saving valuable resources and time and optimizes the metallurgical process.

2021 - Initiation of construction of a 6-high cold rolling mill and a lacquering line. Elval’s final products capacity will reach 520 kTns with emphasis on sustainable, recyclable, lightweight and energy-efficient aluminium solutions, serving high-growth sectors such as packaging and transportation. Raffmetal is Europe's largest manufacturer of foundry aluminium alloys from recycling. With an annual production capacity of over 300,000 tons, 413 employees and 2 production plants located in Italy, the company meets the needs of international customers active in various sectors. Thanks to its 40 years of experience in recycling, from 2021 Raffmetal offers recycled primary aluminium alloys with equal performance compared to primary alloys produced by electrolysis, guaranteeing the market a sustainable product with a low carbon footprint.

Raffmetal started its path towards circularity in 1989 by installing the revolutionary salt residue recovery system that allows the recycling of all residues from the melting process.
In 2013 an oxygen pipeline was built to improve environmental sustainability by removing 2,500 trucks per year from the road. In 2015 Raffmetal installed a heat recovery system that recovers the melting plants' heat and powers the salt slags plant, saving 12,500 tons CO2 every year.

Our 40-year History of Continuous Improvement
Alcomet AD is a Bulgarian leader in the production of flat-rolled and extruded aluminium products, this year celebrating its 40th anniversary. The plant incorporates the entire downstream production cycle from billet- and coil-casting through extrusion and cold-rolling to prefabricated components on a single manufacturing site in Shumen, Bulgaria. Its production facilities equipped with high-end technological solutions have a total capacity of 100 thousand tons per year.

For the last 20 years, Alcomet has invested over 130 mln. EUR in equipment modernization, sustainable manufacturing processes, focusing on the reduction of carbon emissions and improved recycling rates. The most extensive investment programme to date completed in 2020 and involved major capacity expansion in both main production divisions through the acquisition of a new 25 MN HybrEx® extrusion press and 6-high cold-rolling mill.

Founded in 1961 and starting production in 1965, ALRO is the only producer of primary aluminium and aluminium alloys in Romania and one of the largest vertically integrated aluminium producers in Europe. BOHAI TRIMET Automotive Holding GmbH develops and produces complex high pressure die-cast aluminium parts for automobile manufacturers and their suppliers.
