European collection systems differs from one Member States to another. Four main types of collection systems for aluminium beverage cans can be identified: deposit systems, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), a mix system based on EPR and scrap value as well as other specific systems in the UK and Switzerland. No specific collection system seems to prevail in Europe.
